Travel scenario

Day 1. Arrival in Nairobi

Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be greeted with a transfer to one of the world’s most iconic and captivating hotels — Giraffe Manor. This historic 1930s building, set in lush green gardens, blends colonial elegance with the beauty of the wild. The interiors of the manor combine luxury with a cosy, homely feel, creating an atmosphere that invites relaxation. Each of the boutique hotel’s exquisite rooms has its own name and history, many of which are dedicated to the giraffes that have resided in the adjoining sanctuary.

The true highlight of Giraffe Manor is not just its architecture or interiors but the fact that it is home to Rothschild’s giraffes — one of the rarest giraffe species in the world. There are only a few places on Earth where you can experience such proximity to these majestic creatures, and Giraffe Manor is one of them. With around 2,000 Rothschild’s giraffes remaining in the wild, they are critically endangered. The hotel actively supports conservation efforts, meaning your stay here directly contributes to the survival of this extraordinary species.

Day 2–3. Breakfast with giraffes and encountering black and white rhinos

Your day will start with a breakfast experience you’ll never forget. Picture this: you’re sitting on the terrace with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a plate of ripe fruit beside you when suddenly, a curious giraffe stretches its long neck through the window to join you at the table. These graceful giants roam freely around the hotel grounds and are happy to accompany guests for a morning snack. It’s incredibly charming and, let’s be honest, a little surreal, don’t you think?

After this extraordinary breakfast, you’ll take a short flight from Wilson Airport to Solio Airstrip, landing at one of Kenya’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries. In about an hour, you’ll find yourself deep in the wilderness, ready to embark on your safari adventure.

At Solio Game Reserve, you can expect to see lions, leopards, buffalo, and other incredible savannah dwellers. The sheer number of animals is astounding! But the true highlight of this reserve is the rhinos. You'll encounter both black and white rhinos here. While they may look similar at first glance, they’re actually quite different. Black rhinos tend to be shy and elusive, while white rhinos are more sociable, often approaching vehicles to get a closer look. Both species are considered vulnerable, but at Solio, they thrive thanks to robust conservation efforts.

Following your morning safari, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. You can take in the stunning scenery or join in outdoor activities like nature walks, cycling, or horseback riding to further explore the area.

You'll be the only guests in this part of the reserve — no crowds, just you, the wild beauty of nature, and the peaceful opportunity to experience the magic of Africa at your own pace.

Day 4–5. Samburu National Reserve or Maasai Mara

Option 1: If you’ve already been on safari in Maasai Mara, another fascinating destination awaits — Samburu. After a short 20-minute private charter flight, you’ll land at Sasaab airstrip. In the Samburu Reserve, you’ll encounter rare wildlife you won’t find anywhere else: Grevy’s zebra, the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx.

Beyond the safari, there’s plenty to experience: immerse yourself in the traditions of the local Samburu tribe, take a camel ride, camp under the stars, or unwind in a spa with breathtaking views of the African landscape.

Wildebeest crossing the Mara River during the annual great migration

Option 2: For those who haven’t yet visited Maasai Mara.

If it’s your first time in Kenya and you haven’t explored Maasai Mara yet — this is your chance. After a 45-minute drive to Nanyuki airstrip and a short flight, you’ll arrive at one of Africa’s most iconic national parks. Maasai Mara is Kenya’s crown jewel, offering the opportunity to see all of the “Big Five” game animals: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.

In August and September, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration of wildebeest — one of Earth's most spectacular natural events. Balloon rides over the savannah at sunrise, guided safaris with experienced rangers, and the chance to get up close to the wildlife — Maasai Mara will undoubtedly offer unforgettable experiences.

Whichever route you choose, vibrant emotions and rare photos are guaranteed!

Day 6. Farewell to Kenya

On the final day of your safari tour, you'll return to Nairobi and conclude your journey in the tranquil surroundings of The Retreat at Giraffe Manor — a true oasis of calm. In your exclusive suite, you can indulge in comfort, enjoy dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, sip on refreshing drinks, and take in views of the giraffe sanctuary right from the infinity pool. Treat yourself to spa services or re-energise in the gym for complete relaxation — the perfect final note before your return home.
