No matter how many safaris you've been on, there's nothing more magical and unforgettable than breakfast with adorable giraffes! At Giraffe Manor, this experience is easily arranged for you!
This stunning stone manor, originally built as a private residence in the 1930s, houses 12 rooms and is home to six friendly Rothschild giraffes (the rarest in the world)! These gentle giants poke their long necks through the large windows while guests enjoy breakfast and join them in the garden during tea time. It’s a unique experience the hotel takes great pride in!
Located in the suburb of Langata, about 10 km southwest of Nairobi in central Kenya, Giraffe Manor is elegant, intimate, and above all, exclusive. Each room is individually decorated and has a different layout, reflecting the manor's history as a private estate. With its elegant interiors, lush gardens, sun-drenched terraces, and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it feels like a scene from the movie "Out of Africa." No wonder, as one of the 12 rooms is named after Karen Blixen, the author of the story!
In the bedrooms of the Manor, guests will find special giraffe food for feeding the animals through the window, which also offers a stunning view of the Ngong Hills.
Guests can also indulge in spa treatments, a hot tub, sauna, steam room, and gym.
Children of all ages are welcome.
The hotel has received numerous awards: 4 stars in the Forbes Travel Guide for 2024, Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice for seven consecutive years, and many more. Every year, hundreds of guests and celebrities visit, including Mick Jagger, Brooke Shields, Ewan McGregor, and Richard Chamberlain. Due to its popularity, stays typically need to be booked 6 months to 1 year in advance. However, sometimes rooms become available at the last minute, so feel free to send us your requests, and we might be able to secure a room for you!
The room was built in April 2017 as an addition to the Garden Manor section of the hotel. It features stunning stained glass windows and a massive super king-size bed. The room also includes a sofa that can be converted into a bed if needed. The bathroom boasts a corner bathtub, a large double shower, and two sinks.

This large corner room in Garden Manor is one of the most spacious, often visited by hungry giraffes in the mornings looking for treats. It features two beds that can be combined to form a large double bed or separated into two single beds. Upon request, a baby cot can be added to the room. The bathroom includes a double sink, bathtub, and shower. The room offers westward views towards the Ngong Hills and southward views of the giraffe sanctuary and forest. On very clear days, guests can even see the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

Located on the ground floor of Garden Manor, this room offers a unique view of giraffe legs when you open the curtains early in the morning. It features a king-size bed and two single beds in a loft accessible by a small spiral staircase. There is also an additional space to accommodate a third child. The bathrooms include a unique large double shower, two sinks, and a bathtub. The room also has a small sitting area with a fireplace.

This room features a portrait of Mrs. Betty, the estate's owner in the 1970s, after whom the room is named. It includes a king-size bed, a fireplace, and an adjoining balcony where you can feed giraffes. The en-suite bathroom retains its original Art Deco style with a bathtub and shower. The creators have preserved the atmosphere of that era, protecting the building's heritage.

Located on the top floor of the main manor, this room features a spacious balcony with stunning south-facing views. Guests can enjoy the unique experience of feeding giraffes in the early morning hours. This two-bedroom suite is the largest in the estate. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, while the second bedroom includes two single beds and a small daybed suitable for a young child. The suite also boasts a spacious living room with a fireplace and a writing desk.
