Opened in 2004, Sala’s Camp is renowned for its authentic safaris in the Masai Mara National Park, offering intimate luxury, exceptional personalized service and exquisite cuisine.
The camp seamlessly combines traditional safari experiences with modern comfort. It is located on the banks of the Sand River in the southern part of the Masai Mara Reserve, less than 2 km from the Tanzanian border, and offers stunning views of the Serengeti National Park. It is also one of the first camps in the region where guests can witness the legendary annual wildebeest migration, which takes place from June to September.
Sala’s Camp supports various wildlife conservation projects in the area, ensuring that your visit contributes positively to the environment!
The camp features 11 tents, including 2 family tents and 2 honeymoon tents. All tents have private plunge pools and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers. The cuisine is incredibly refined, fully embracing the camp’s philosophy of blending tradition with high culinary standards.
Sala’s Camp is perfect for families. The camp welcomes children of all ages, providing them with a welcome pack that includes games, drawing kits, and wildlife quizzes. They can also play in the shallow Sand River under the watchful eye of a ranger.
Built in 2016, the Family Tent is uniquely designed to accommodate families or groups of friends. It is located at the confluence of the Kikorok and Sand Rivers. Access to the tent is via a small footbridge over the Kikorok River. It features 2 spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, connected by a shared living room. The enormous wooden veranda spans 108 sq.m. and includes a private plunge pool, sun loungers, and a hammock, all on the south side, offering views of the Sand River and Tanzania. The tent can accommodate up to 6 guests. Each of the 2 spacious bathrooms includes a tropical shower and a freestanding bathtub with stunning views.

The double tents include Tent 1 for honeymooners (the furthest and most secluded), as well as Tents 4, 5, 6, and 7, which are scattered along the riverbank. While each tent has a slightly different design, they all offer the same amenities and views of the Sand River and Serengeti Park. Glass panoramic doors lead to either a courtyard or a wooden terrace, where there is space for a romantic dinner if desired. Each tent features private plunge pools and wooden terraces.
Every tent is spacious enough to accommodate a third bed for a child if needed, but this must be confirmed at the time of booking.

Built in 2017, the Forest Family Tent is ideal for families. The space consists of one large open-plan room with two sleeping areas. Both bedrooms have their own spacious bathrooms with tropical showers, and one also features a built-in bathtub. A small lawn shaded by trees provides a perfect play area for young children. The tent can accommodate up to 5 people. It includes a large veranda and a private terrace just steps from the Sand River with views of Tanzania. There is also a private pool and fire pit seating areas. Friendly mongooses roam near the camp, adding to the unique experience. Exclusive use of a safari vehicle is included for all guests.
