Solio Lodge is renowned above all for its unique opportunity to observe rhinos! Located in a valley between the high slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare mountain range, the Solio Reserve is recognized as one of the most successful rhino breeding sanctuaries in East Africa! Home to over 200 black and white rhinos, spending time with them and seeing them up close is truly mesmerizing!
In addition to the unique safari experience, the luxurious design of the complex will also impress you. Opened in 2010, it consists of five separate guest cottages, each with panoramic windows and stunning views, as well as its own fireplace, perfect for cool evenings. Each cottage is decorated according to a specific theme, reflected in the decorative elements that adorn the space. High thatched roofs and panoramic windows create a sense of open space.
Beyond rhino watching, Solio Lodge offers guests the chance to sip cocktails with giraffes, ride across the plains on horseback, and watch animals come to the watering hole. There's also the opportunity to learn more about local culture and visit a nearby school.
Solio Lodge welcomes both children and adults. Young guests can spend several hours with friendly guides who can teach them simple crafts and interesting facts about wildlife.
After an active day, guests can unwind with a massage by the crackling fire, enjoy relaxing treatments, and savor exquisite cuisine.
High thatched roofs and panoramic windows. Spacious bathrooms for two, tropical showers, wardrobes, and comfortable seating areas. All cottages are roomy enough to accommodate a crib or an additional bed for a child if needed. They can accommodate two adults and one child.
All cottages have the same exterior appearance and amenities. Cottages 2, 3, 4, and 5 can be equipped with either twin beds or double beds, while cottages 1 and 6 are furnished with double beds only.
An ideal option for families or groups of friends, these cottages can accommodate four adults and one child. With a large green garden surrounding each cottage, it’s a wonderful and safe place for children to play. Cottages 5 and 6 are connected by a shared lounge. The spacious rooms feature large bathrooms, and each bedroom offers stunning views of the reserve. There’s a terrace perfect for yoga or meditation. Both bathrooms have standalone bathtubs and large shower cabins, and both bedrooms have their own fireplaces.
