The lounge in Terminal 1 at Vienna Airport has been named the best in the world in the Priority Pass Excellence awards. What makes it the best?
Priority Pass Excellence awards are based on reviews from 379,966 Priority Pass members, who evaluated over 1,500 lounges.
The lounge was judged on several criteria, including the quality of amenities, service, food and drink selection, and overall customer satisfaction.
In Europe, the Marco Polo Airport lounge in Venice was the winner. In Asia, the top spot went to the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Hong Kong Airport. In the Middle East, the award was given to the Queen Alia Airport lounge. In Latin America, the Afonso Pena Airport lounge in Brazil took the prize.
Priority Pass members can enter for free. Membership fees range from $99 to $469 per year. Non-members can access the lounge for 3 hours at a cost of $59 per adult and $31 per child.
The main area is a bright, open space with lots of natural light from big windows. The walls are decorated with artworks by Klimt and Schiele, giving it a unique feel. It looks like a stylish hotel lobby and can hold 450 guests.
In the center of the lounge is a dining area with a large buffet. There’s a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, including traditional foods, cheese, cold cuts, and a salad bar. There’s also a cozy Viennese café with delicious pastries and strudels.
The lounge is filled with comfortable sofas, each with electrical sockets and USB ports. There’s a special play area for kids and a family bathroom. If you need to nap before your flight, there are private booths with beds and reading lamps. The lounge also has showers with Dyson hair dryers and fluffy towels for a refreshing experience.
One of the highlights is the year-round open rooftop terrace with views of the runway. You can enjoy some fresh air before your flight.
If you find yourself at Vienna Airport with time to spare, we highly recommend visiting this famous lounge to see for yourself why it’s the best!
