Travel scenario

Day 1. Arrival in Ushuaia, Argentina (overnight at hotel)

Welcome to Ushuaia, the southernmost city on Earth. This lively Argentine port town, nestled between the majestic Andes, is where your journey to Antarctica begins.

Spend some time getting to know southern Patagonia — take a walk along the promenade with stunning views of the Beagle Channel, admire the surrounding mountains, or pop into a local cafe to try some delicious handmade chocolate.

Day 2. Morning in Ushuaia and boarding the ship

The first half of the day offers a perfect chance to explore Ushuaia before setting off on your adventure.

You can visit the museum complex, which includes the Prison Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Antarctica Museum, and the Art Gallery. At the End of the World Museum, you’ll discover the stories of indigenous peoples and the history behind the exploration and settlement of Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia.

At the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands Memorial, with its stunning views, you can learn more about Argentina's history and its perspective on the Falkland Islands.

For lunch, why not try some local dishes, such as fresh seafood and crab, at one of the waterfront restaurants?

In the afternoon, you’ll board the ship and begin your expedition. Settle into your comfortable cabin, then head to the deck to take in the views of the Beagle Channel as you sail through the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. Get ready for a thrilling moment: the next time you see land, you’ll be stepping onto the southernmost continent — Antarctica!

Days 3 and 4. Drake Passage

Iceberg in the Drake Passage between the Falkland Islands and Antarctica

You’ll spend two days crossing the legendary Drake Passage, where you can truly experience the vastness of the open ocean. As the ship sails between South America and Antarctica, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the incredible journey ahead. The expedition team will deliver engaging lectures on local wildlife, photography, the history of Antarctic exploration, and glaciology — the study of ice.

In between talks, head out to the deck, where you might spot whales or albatrosses following the ship. After watching the marine life, unwind in the bar and chat with fellow expedition members.

Days 5—8. South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula

When you set foot on the seventh continent, you'll be overwhelmed by emotions. Antarctica simply cannot be captured in photos or fully described — it's something you need to see and experience firsthand. Even seasoned explorers discover something new with each visit, meaning your experience will be unique.

One of the stops will be the South Shetland Islands, where you'll encounter dramatic volcanic landscapes and colonies of seabirds. King George Island, the largest of the South Shetlands, has eight year-round research stations. Elephant Island is renowned for the story of Shackleton’s expedition, whose crew survived here for several months. You’ll also visit Deception Island, a volcanic caldera where you can literally walk through an active volcano.

You'll explore the region aboard Zodiacs — small, sturdy boats that take you deep into glacial bays and through narrow canals. Each excursion introduces you to new wildlife, and you’ll want your camera ready to capture every unique moment.

Prepare to come face-to-face with thousands of penguins — an unforgettable sight. Adélie, chinstrap, and gentoo penguins go about daily routines, from hunting to nest-building and tending to their chicks.

Weddell seals, crabeater seals, fur seals, and leopard seals lounge on ice floes, occasionally lifting their heads to inspect the boat.

You might also spot curious humpback whales, minke whales, and orcas, which often appear just a few metres from your Zodiac.

Some landings may even take you to actual research bases, where scientists live and work year-round, studying this extreme environment.

In the serene silence of Antarctica, every sound is amplified: glaciers calve into the ocean with a thunderous crash, penguins squabble over pebbles, and whales surface, sending up a spout of water as if to greet you.

Days 9 and 10. Drake Passage

Your return journey through the Drake Passage begins. Over the next two days, you'll have more chances to breathe in the crisp Antarctic air as you stand on deck, gazing at the endless ocean.

Keep an eye out for albatrosses and petrels gliding over the waves, and be on the lookout for whales. When you're not enjoying the views from the deck, you can attend insightful presentations from the expedition team. These final days offer a perfect time to reflect on your incredible experience and celebrate with your newfound friends.

Day 11. Ushuaia

You'll arrive back in Ushuaia in the morning, marking the end of your Antarctic adventure. From here, you can either continue exploring or head home.
