Taking its name from the Swahili word meaning "suspended in mid-air," Angama Mara boasts some of the best views of the Mara Triangle, thanks to its elevated location.
Situated near the Oloololo Gate in the northeastern part of the Maasai Mara Reserve, this lodge occupies a spot where scenes from the iconic 1980s film Out of Africa were filmed.
Spanning 700 hectares, Angama Mara borders the Great Rift Valley, attracting abundant wildlife due to the marshy terrain that providing water access. A private road connects the lodge directly to the reserve, adding an exclusive touch to your stay. The lodge is accessible via scheduled flights or private charters.
Angama Mara is divided into two identical yet separate camps, each featuring 15 tented suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces. Designed with ultimate comfort in mind, the interiors embrace African aesthetics. Guests can soak in the breathtaking views from every corner of their suite — whether lying in bed, enjoying a bath or shower, or relaxing on the lounge sofa.
The lodge features a 12-metre infinity pool where you can swim while observing wildlife. Adjacent to the pool is a fitness room with panoramic windows and what’s described as the best treadmill view in Africa!
Photography enthusiasts can perfect their craft in the on-site studio, which offers private lessons on photography and editing with a professional. Guests can even print a personal portfolio of their safari memories. In addition, a beadwork studio serves as a creative space for Maasai women, where they craft exclusive handmade items daily.

Each suite features a super king-size bed, a spacious wardrobe, a vanity with dual sinks, a separate toilet, a writing desk, and a cosy private lobby area where guests can order their morning tea or coffee.
Two standard suites connected by a private corridor. Each suite can accommodate up to 2 adults and 4 children. Guests can enjoy their personal space and privacy while having the convenience and peace of mind of safe and easy access between the two suites.
