Look on the map

Would you like to relive your childhood and stay in a treehouse within a nature reserve? Then, the River Lodge is the place for you! Situated along the banks of the Sabi River within the Lion Sands Game Reserve, this lodge boasts over 800-years-old trees!

River Lodge combines the traditions of an authentic safari with modern comforts: a private lounge, bar, open-air safari lounge, two swimming pools (heated during winter), wooden viewing decks, a conference room, a wellness spa, and a gym. Guests can enjoy guided safari drives from sunrise to sunset, observing predators as they return from their hunts. During the day, a special coffee treat awaits guests on an improvised picnic.

The lodge offers both well-equipped suites and unique treehouses, where guests can spend a night under the stars. These treehouses provide stunning views of the reserve and an unforgettable experience sleeping beneath the night sky. Notably, the Сhalkley Treehouse was built on the site where explorer Guy Aubrey Chalkley once set up camp in a leadwood tree.

The 40 suites are designed in a contemporary style, incorporating natural materials and textures, such as wooden furniture, decorative elements, and finishes. The rooms are spacious, featuring large open-plan bathrooms and outdoor showers. Two sets of interconnecting suites are perfect for families travelling together.

River Lodge is well-equipped to host celebrations of all kinds, whether a wedding or a birthday.

The lodge takes an exceptional approach to dining, serving meals prepared with high-quality ingredients and a menu that changes with the seasons.

After an active day on safari, guests can relax in the spa. Wellness here is holistic, and the fitness centre provides breathtaking views of the wilderness, transforming workouts into an inspiring experience.

The lodge’s creative studio allows guests to print their photographs on high-quality canvas, creating a unique souvenir to take home. There’s also the opportunity to rent photographic equipment and, with guidance from professionals, capture the perfect shot.

The lodge welcomes children aged 10 and above. The Mack & Madi children’s programme will delight young explorers while adults enjoy their safari adventures.
