This architectural masterpiece was transformed from a grain silo built on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in the 1920s. The upper section now operates as a hotel, which opened its doors in March 2017.

The Silo Hotel occupies six floors, with the remaining floors housing the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), home to the largest collection of contemporary African art in Africa! Here, you'll encounter young South African creators and international travellers who have a passion for art.

Inside, you’ll find soaring ceilings and massive, convex windows with intricate ironwork details. The interiors range from rooms furnished with French antiques to those designed in a Chinese style. Each of the 28 rooms and suites has its own unique style and atmosphere. But what most often surprises guests are the bathrooms—spacious with Tiffany-blue cabinets, black-and-white striped floors, and a bathtub placed right by the panoramic windows, offering stunning city views!

On the 6th floor, you'll find the Granary Cafe at the reception, offering intriguing dishes—meaty snacks, salmon rillette in pots, and grilled steak. The Willaston Bar is a favourite among locals, with an extensive selection of South African wines. For cocktails with light bites and magnificent panoramic views, visit The Silo Rooftop.
