This conceptual safari lodge combines a commitment to nature with luxurious design. Cheetah Plains pioneered silent safaris and gained fame for its unique approach to using renewable energy sources in the hospitality industry within the wilderness. Built in 2018, the lodge includes 3 private villas, each accommodating up to 8 guests. Guests are provided with a personal professional team, including a private chef, butler, ranger, and service staff.
The interior design is pleasantly surprising, avoiding clichés. African motifs are subtly woven in through materials and decor, with a play of natural and manufactured elements, and the architecture contrasts with and complements the surrounding environment. Spacious verandas with heated pools, wine galleries, private kitchens, and curated art pieces that adorn the rooms reflect the exquisite taste of the owner, Japie van Niekerk.
The lodge offers morning and evening safaris in electric vehicles to minimize environmental impact, guided walks, and special outdoor dinners. At the end of an active day, guests can unwind with spa treatments and enjoy wine, whiskey, or gin tastings with a professional sommelier.
Safety is ensured by an electric fence and security staff. The property features a modern fitness center, children's playrooms, and a boutique with designer items.
